Frederic de Mariz, PhD is UBS Head of Sustainable Markets Advisory for the Americas and Head of Argentina/Chile. He is also Professor of Finance and Impact Investing at Columbia University and a member of the Sustainable Investing Research Institute - SIRI. He set up the sustainable finance team in 2020 and led UBS to become a leading bank for sustainable finance in Brazil. Prior to Sustainability, he was responsible for Financial Institutions & Fintech for UBS and was a Top 3 ranked equity research analyst. Frederic has a Master’s degree from Columbia University and completed his PhD at University of Sao Paulo. He also graduated from Essec and Sciences Po. He has published several books and academic articles. He is a member of the sustainability committee of Sabesp, the Brazilian Markets Association (ANBIMA) and the advisory board of the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA).
